Those you mentioned are not trim numbers.
They are for the a/r [the size of the turbine housing (exhaust side of the turbo)] in the T3 family.

.48 smallest
.63 mid
.82 largest

Trim is the wheel size for either the compressor or turbine side.

.36, .48, .63 and .82 are all T3 exhaust housing A/R's. They belong to the T3 family of turbochargers.

Trims the relationship of the inducer to the excuder and squared.

The smallest T3 exhaust a/r is a .36 and not a .48 like it was mentioned above.

Well just list your setup, what type of driving (street, drag, auto-x) how much power you want to make, and your budget. We will be able to narrow it down for you.

T3/04 B16 (Maybe LSVTEC), looking for 250-275hp on a semi-street/drag. What trim level and a/r ratio should I be looking for. I would sacrifice a little lag on the low end for big power up top.

I was just about to make a thread just like this. Good thing I saw this one...

I bought a turbo yesterday for my B18C1 setup:
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by CHEAPTURBOdotCOM &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Freshly rebuilt turbonetics t3/to4b s-trim w/ .63 a/r stg 1 clipped.</TD></TR></TABLE>

So, what does "s-trim" mean?
What are the stages of the wheels?

Hm, that post is awesome. Very informative...

So here are a few facts on my turbo:
S trim (37 lb/min)
Stage 1 (small -- most common turbine on junkyard turbos)

But what does 37lb/min mean?

37lb/min is an airflow rate.

http://www.majesticturbo.com has a formula you can use to determine what you need.
