my friend has a 90 crx dx with a b16a and a cable tranny (which is insane) we were out racing some stuff and then we slowed down to like 30 and he went to go put it into 3rd and after he let off the clutch the trans grabbed real hard and scared everybody then it wouldnt go into any gears after he pulled it out of third. then at like 20 miles an hour it went into fifth and we drove home and it wouldnt go into any other gears after we turned it off and restarted it any ideas on what it might be or has anybody else had this problem?

 

pull down the tranny and check the bearings. must have broken or the clutch itself broke.

 

if he shifted hard....
and then after that seems stuck on gear.
and wont go into any other gear and still stuck ....
he more likely broke the select forks

 

well we just started it and it still wont go into any gears, he was shifting hard but not power shifting or anything but it isnt stuck in a gear.

 

broke or bent selector forks ?either rebuild or new tranny. i've got a friend w/ an old b16 tranny. let me know and i'll see if he's willing to part.
