FS: Yellow 600RR 8k
Lowsided today on some gravel at 5pmh in first gear, bike only has cosmetic damage (fairing and mirror scratched, corner lamp broken) I rode the bike home so it rides perfect. Everyone has told me to continue riding but this mishap is enough for me to sell it. Pearl yellow, 30 miles, 7,200firm. Pics tomorrow when it's sunny. Call with question 7702351168. Why in god's name are you going to quit riding because of something so puny?
Geez, my wreck was immeasurably worse than that and I'm still riding. Get back on the horse and ride bro.

I'm too scared that something worse will happen... I rode the bike home and was so ******* tense. Plus my mom is wrecked over the incident. I don't have the ***** to ride anymore.

Just calm down, do not ride for a week, then start to ride little by little until you get your two wheel legs back. If you start riding again, you will have more respect for your bike and find out how much you love riding it. This happens to almost everyone. When i first lowsided my bike, I did not want to ride it any more and i was so scared to ride it again. But i learn from the wreak and i am happy that i have the bike still. Sit on the decision to sell it for a week or two and see how you feel then. If you sell it now, you may look back and hate yourself for selling it.

thanks for all the positive remarks but i will never ride again... I'm still addicted to speed though so I'll use to the money to go FI or All motor on the BB6.

Give the 600 time. You need to learn the bike. like vtec44 said, the track is a great place to ride your bike and be safe. Plus you get to see what your bike it about.

It means that bike just fell and slid and the rider did not get throw. High side means that the bike flips, bucks, rolls, and the rider gets throw from the bike.

so you've ridden other people's 250 ninjas before but you decided to start out on a 600rr? Why not try a milder 600 like an F3 or an F4? I've dropped my F4 once in a parking lot, and went down when I brushed up against a curb taking a turn too wide. Nothing too bad happened, the stator cover and the left fairing got scratched up, and the gearshift lever got bent a bit. Nothing that wasn't fixable. I didn't ride for about two weeks after that. Nothing happened to me, just a bruised ego. Just take it slow and don't wuss out. Don't give up now, especially after saying that stuff in the other thread that tony pointed out
How long did you ride dirtbikes for? And the 250 Ninja? I'm not sure how long it would take you to feel "really comfortable" on a bike... I've been riding for almost a year already and don't feel 100% comfortable. In fact, I don't think it's possible to feel 100% comfortable on a bike out on the streets.

Bro stick with it man, trust me you aren't the first person to feel this way. You live and you learn but giving up isn't what you should be doing.
Or not doing it because you are scared, you'll never be able to live with yourself if you don't get on the horse again man.
It's all mental, just take a break, and relax.

Bummer for you dude.....
What happens when you wreck your car racing? You gonna quit that too?
No offence, but maybe you should go buy a bus pass now, and prepare for the future.

wait one quick question about your other post in the Yamaha R6 thread... that was posted back on 5/15, you said that you were a new rider and have had yet to drop your bike. What bike were you talking about? You got your 600RR on the 24th right? Can you clarify this for me?
I know all these posts aren't helping you sell your bike but..
I agree you should sell your bike. Personally I wouldnt stop riding, I dumped my first bike in 5 minutes at 40 mph, i felt the same way as you, until i healed.
Get yourself a 500 or better yet get an F2, I have one now and they are very forgiving, you can beat on it all day and never think twice about it.
Trust me, you sell your bike for 8ish and pick up an older bike for round 2ish and I can almost guarantee youll ride more on the older bike, with cash in the bank
well, good luck with whatever you do.

Sorry, I couldn't help it, if you lust bought your bike to have because your friends ride, sell it, if you BARELY drop it and want to sell it you're not a rider, **** happens and you should sell it. I've dropped an F2 about 3 times, 2 stup times and 1 wreck-kinda bad wreck, but even after the wreck I couldn't wait to ride. I was back on it still in bandages 3 weeks later because it part of me, my step-dad has riden for about 35 years and my mom about 6 years, they got me into riding and I'm naturally bound to them.
I'm sorry, but if I sold my bike after some bullshit 5mph drop I wouldn't have had my wreck but I would've missed out on a lot of good times and true enjoyment.

NEVER get A 500! that's a waste of $$$l, I started out on a 93 F2 w/ filter, jet kit, slip on and it was a very fun bike, I learned all my tricks on that bike, only paid $2000 for it and it was clean, wrecked it, fixed it sold it for what I paid for it. Don't get anything smaller than a 600 but for your first bike I'd NEVER buy a new one, get something you're not afraid to damage...because most likely you will, it's been proven time and time again.
ok i have a 600 and i have lowsided it a few times but always gotten back up... my last crash however was a little bit worse...
Doin 80 mph in NYC .. had it in a wheelie in 2nd gear and saw some cops, figured they wont be to happy with me doin 80mph in a 25 mph. went to put it down and hit the brakes hard when the front wheel touched the ground but as soon as i applied the brakes i hit a BIG *** bump in the road and my reaction was just to grab on the handle bars as hard as i could. unfortunely i was haolding on to the brakes also, when the bike came back down i slapt mu nutz in the tank so hard and the bike whent up into and endo and i flipped it. it felt like i keept sliding forever, when i came to a stop alot of ppl came running up to me and asked if i was ok, i said i was and told them dude u see my bike its fucked up dont worry about me i am still walking... i was lucky to walk away as i was only wearing a helmet shorts and a tangtop... yes i was stupid but u learn from ur misstakes.. even though i was wearing a helmet the back of my bike missed my head by inches and if i shoved u a pick of it u would say damn, cuz with the force my tail hit the ground it would have smashed my head like a pumpkin..... to make a long story short just get on ur bike and let it take some time to learn it we all go down, its just a matter on how long it will take you to get back up on

Because 99% of new riders with little or no instruction do.
So you've never dropped any motorcycle you've riden?
Dirt, street or otherwise? Then I guess you're that 1%, maybe you should be a professional track rider the way you're talking.
BTW, you're opinion will change when you end up wrecking your bike.
