Distributor Timing and Loss of Power Problems Please Help Me
I removed the distributor completely from my car. I than replaced the rotor and re-installed the distributor. I know the timing isn't exactly right. I tried to drive the car and the throttle response is very poor. I hold down the gas and i don't get any response for about 3 seconds and when i do get response it is very poor. The car is a 95 vtec and i do have a timing light. I tried to use the light to see the marks behind the rubber plug right by the engine code. I sometimes could see a mark and most of the time i was unable to see a mark at all. The car won't idle for a prolonged period of time and it will eventually die. It only idles at about 500 rpms or less and surges up and down.
you have to warm the car up for like ten minutes. then you have to jump the service connecter behind the center console where the radio is. Then you set the timming, Then after you get it set you turn off the car and remove the jumper. Then start the car again and you should be done
