Or my local shop if they are willing to beat a shipped price and they have it in stock. Most of the time they will do this to keep business.

These sites help you guys get stuff for cheap but it hurts our business. I work at a Yamaha dealership just as a parts guy and people think we can price match off the internet but we cant. I guess we can but we would go out of business plus our corp. wouldn't be to happy with us. Most of the time they sell stuff for or less than what we pay for them. I don't own the business but everyday I have to put up with people being mad at me for not giving them the price they saw on the internet. So in other words I wouldn't suggest going to dealerships with internet price request because most likely they wont give it to you. If they do then they wont be in business for much longer.

Well I meant for along the lines of Gear and Aftermarket parts. Not actual factory parts. I know matching internet prices is a non-policy at most any type of stores. Although there is such a high mark-up on some stuff they can get away with it every once in a while and be just fine. It's not like it's an every day thing.

My local store does a decent job of matching internet prices. In fact, sometimes they beat them.
You make money by generating regulars. People that come in and pay retail for the little things, not the big things. It pays to discount the big things and make customers feel like you're their friend.

We can discount a little bit but usually nowhere close to internet prices. Now, our regular customers who come in a little more than others we show our gratitude and give them a good break.
