Recently traded JDM B16a S1 for a USDM Integra S1.....
I recently traded the JDM b16 tranny from my car for a USDM integra tranny because I have a turbo on the way. I never experienced VTEC quite the same way as I do now. LOL. I love this ****. Before the car felt mad fast on the low end but seemed to kinda die out on the highway. Now its still kinda quick feeling on the low end but feels like I gained alot on the highway. It just seems to pull longer and gain speed faster on the highway. I also gained alot as far as gas mileage is concerned. My car is a 88' DX hatch with a stock block LS-VTEC in it. Just thought Id share my tranny experience's.
i bet you are slower actually, that tranny is a longer geared tranny, which means it takes you longer to get to your maximum horsepower. But if you like it, that's all that matters. But yes I bet if you go to the Track and run your car you will be slower.
Yea I know this but I just want to say that infact I am faster on the highway. The b16 is great for drag racing but I have found that I dont do much drag anymore. I use to go to the track like every weekend but stopped when I couldnt afford to break anything else....LOL. Anyway I have thought about going back but just like not having to work on my ride. To make a long story short one of my friends with a EK has the same setup I have ecept with ITR cams. He just switched from a b16 tranny to a GSR tranny and his pulls better up top than it did but he lost low end as well. We raced and on the low end after he did his tranny swap and I still had the b16 I pulled him by about 1 car until the top of 4th in my car and then he passed me up and kept pulling. Now when we run I am dead even with him all the way until high 4th gear when we both hit speed limiter at 120. I know that the car is better on the highway now.
