Default Bringing the GSR to the track....questions

Ok I am running my GSR May 31st at Import Wars in New Hampshire.

I was wondering what you guys all use for shift points, and what are you reving at before take off. I am just curious to see what has brought the most success. Also, what your running for PSI in your tires. Thanks H-T

If I was you, if the ECU is stock, or stock rev limiter, and only have basic bolt-ons, I would find out where your car hits the rev limiter, what it says on the Tach when it hits. because the Tach is a bit slower than the motor...It might say something around 7800 when it hits, or something in that area... After finding where it hits, I would begin my gear change 200-400 rpms before that Rev Limiter RPM that was determined... In a pretty much stock car that should be fine... If you have dyno charts you can determine where to shift better, but save that until later... If you are running street non-slick tires, like some Toyo's or whatever, drop the tires pressure down a bit, maybe 20 PSI. You have learn how to launch your car at the track before you start to get too in depth with details. The track and the street launch completely different. Worry about not over revving out the hole, causing wheel spin, and not too low, causing the car to bog. Find your cars sweet spot... Best of Luck hombre!

I've noticed with a stock ecu, I've netted the best times shifting at 8200. Are you running on street tires, DR's or slicks?

Im running on street tires. Im going try launching around 3500 or so. Need to figure out a good spot. I just bought the car and haven't had a chance to get into racing it yet. So, this saturday is my first chance. Just wanted to hear what some of the gsr's had the most success at.
