Default May Have to Say Goodbye to my Type R

Well my friend w/ a jdm civic si engine swap in his crx and i were comming from checking out glen burnie tonite (my 1st time) when all of a sudden we come up behind 2 trans ams pacing each other looking for a light.
We are on their tails when all of a sudden they take off. we follow. little do we know their is a cop pulling out at the top of the hill who come flying out lights going with the trans ams blowing by and my friend and i following.
We move aside hoping he goes after the domestics but he dosent. we now face 1040 in fines each, and a heck of alot of points. They include reckless driving, speed contest, and speeding. he says 75 in a 45 for me and 72 in a 45 for my friend. we are screwed i believe . Just goes to show be careful out their, im just praying i dont loose my license. Perfect way to end my high-school graduation day. might have to sell the R now. insurance may go through the roof.

Dohh!! I'm assuming insurance is NOT under your name? Well, you're young and you did something very stupid. I hope that you can keep your R and maybe get some of the points dropped. If possible get a good attorney and go from there. Hope you and your friend learned a lesson about driving foolishly on public roads.. Good luck..

Man Cops are all over Rt. 2 Glen Burnie! Expecially during Friday and Saturday nights. They hide in the medians or over by the houses ready to pull import cars over. I see this every weekend. Glen Burnie Sucks!!! Sorry about your ticket man

How many points are you looking at? Just to give you an idea, my brother is 19, has six points on his license, and is now driving a '97 Ford Ranger because it has "cheap" insurance, and that's still close to $5000 a year. I, on the other hand, just got mine down to like $2300 in a '00 R, and have no points. Good luck with that dude, and definitely keep it on the track, you should've come up to Summit this past Friday, even though it was raining it was a blast.

Just get a lawyer to see if he can help you knock the charges/punishment down some. As it stands right now I have about 15 or so points on my record and my insurance is about 4,800 a year. It seems like alot but its the price I pay for doing stupid things and having a Type R. It sucks you got caught but you should have expected it when you street race. I have gotten tickets for speeding so many times that I hardly ever drive over the limit and when I do I am paranoid as hell. Good luck on your situation.

The whole process of going to court and getting your punishment takes quite a long time.. so I bet you're still able to track your car on the 20th.

Get a lawyer or else you're fucked.

My reckless happened 4 months ago I believe... and I go to court next month on the 26th for the 3rd time.

I had similiar charges and a lawyer got it reduced from

reckless endangerment
speeding in a school zone
failure to carry registration
failure to carry insurance
failure to wear seatbelt
failure to obey traffic sign

To

faiure to to stop at stop sign

However it cost me 500 in lawyer fees

Drive the speed limit and obey all the other laws and you should be fine.

Why follow some punks if they want to race on the streets? Remember the previews too F&F2 have aired.

your only option is to get a really good lawyer so you can get your charges brought down and pay him a lot of money instead of payin a lot more for insurance over the years.

You need to invest in one of these:

Not only will it sniff out Kojaks with Kodaks - but it will serve as a reminder to drive safely.

Get a lawyer and some Astroglide.
