Once again looking for a decenlty cheap exhaust, something that will give a decent tone and perhaps add a couple horsepower. We all know that mufflers don't add more than a couple horsepower by themsleves anyway so.... Some mufflers on ebay sell for under $100 that look pretty decent. I"m sure some people bought one of these, what about the titianium ones?

Just get a brand name axle back. Tanabe and Apexi both make their famous cat back exhaust on both axle back forms. You might need to call the USA distributor to get a part number and number for the retailer closest to you.

 

I'm sure they can sound decent if you add resonators on the b-pipe. I wouldn't know about how the quality is and how long they would last though.

 

On one hand I think a muffler is pretty much a muffler, but I dont' know if the titanium ones would look right or close to the same as the expensive ones?

 

eBay mufflers are ok, theyre just really rice sounding. You could just buy and eBay muffler and do a custom catback setup urself...who knows even do a straight pipe with a resonator?

 

Yeah, anyone can say "get an axel back" but i think the original poster said he wanted something around $100. Any Axel back exhaust at that price is probably not worth the money.

and what is "rice Sounding"? is it the sound your chopsticks make when tapping the side of an empty rice bowl?

I initially started out with one of these $100 ebay mufflers. The sound was deep (not raspy) and the gains in torque were evident. It came with a silencer which i had on most of the time out of respect for my neighbors and my sanity.

After my bonus check came through from work, i upgraded my exhaust system. I still have the exhaust which is sitting in the garage at the moment. If youre interested, you can have it for half of what i paid for it since i used it for 8 months.

Get what your budget can afford. There's no doubt that whatever you change will be an improvement over stock.

If I were to get an ebay muffler, what kinds do you recommend me to look for in terms of quality, I don't want no loud fart can.. just something to replace my stock muffler until I get enough $ to buy a full exhaust system.
