Hey all, im workin on publicity for pgh thunder, if u havent heard about it heres the deal: august 9 and 10 we're holding the first ever drag race in the city of pittsburgh. it is for cars from 1974 and older (plus a section for type r's). the race is in honor of jody mcgovern so we're letting type r's run (ALL MUST BE STREET LEGAL!) . its in an AWESOME location. its on the north shore of the city and the drag strip is on West General Robinson St. right between the two stadiums! if u dont know pgh it is an absolutely beautiful area. there is also a car cruise, all through that area of the city, again a BOMB *** place - right near the river. Plus, when you get a wristband you get discounts ALL OVER THE CITY - restuarants, clubs, bars and TONS of more stuff. This thing is gonna be HUGE. We're even talking about barbara bush (the first lady) coming. next year george (the president in case u dono) may come, for real.

now, to be a part of it with ur car - whether u wanna run it or just participate in the cruise you MUST enter. Space is limited so u gotta do this somewhat soon. I have a billion entry forms, if you really want to do this get ahold of me and ill send you a form via the mail and you just send it back to me. This race is so important to Jody's parents as well as Jody's family and friends. To have a bunch of type r's there would make us sooo happy. PLEASE make this important to you as well, jody was an active member of honda-tech and LOVED his car, as you all do. PLEASE think of doing this, everyone on here is like family. You guys were so great about getting flowers and whatnot sent for his funeral, which is TOTALLY appreciated. this would be something that is a LOT of fun that you can do to honor him.

if you dont have a car, like i said at least come out. if u really wanna be a part of it, you can always volunteer and help out, wheter u have a car or not - you dont have to, but if you really believe in this thing and want to do whatever u can, thats a great way. just let me know and ill work on gettin you to do whatever u want to help out.

if you are from outta town, i can personally help you find somewhere to stay, a nice hotel or a cheap motel, whatever u want. if worse comes to worse i have a big live-in basement!

so if you want an entry form you can email me at garbage41@aol.com and leave you're name, address, how many forms u want and the type of cars that you want to enter. and tell people! if u know anyone with another car that fits the year requirement (1974 and older) or other r's or any gear heads (they can at least come and u can email me and we can ask if ur car can be an exception to any requirements) let them know. wow, actually drag racing in town.. interesting.

I've heard stories about the old days when they used to drag race across the mckees rocks bridge, people would actually trailer their cars down there.... interesting to say the least.

wish i could attend.... getting the hell out of orlando in august would be a good thing.
