Default First year JDM HID front end can be used

What was the first year that the JDM HID front end can be used on a Teg. I saw somewhere a while back someone said the HID version couldn't be used in a certain year because the power steering pump got in the way or something like that. Any one have any more details. Thanks

98-01 integra is where the HID fits.
If you have no ABS 94+

Basically 94-97 integras (LS and up) have ABS pumps that are too big for the HID ballasts to fit. With an Integra 98+ you don't have to worry about it. But that doesn't mean that you couldn't detach the ballast and move it somewhere. It's extra work but HID's OWN.

it is definitely NOT worth it to buy the OEM HID. Just get the regular black housing headlights and buy some Phillips HID's.

boy I hope you're ready to get flamed Some Philips HID kits sell for about $500 or so, give or take a hundred. Non-HID JDM front ends sell for about $1700 (a la passwordjdm). OEM HID JDM front ends sell for about $2300. Do the math, and it comes out to around $600 difference between OEM HID and non-HID kits. $2-300 difference max. Ask anybody on this board- most likely they'll tell you that the OEM HID beam pattern is much better than using an aftermarket kit in the non-HID projector. I've seen integobsession's lights in person... words can't explain it

there is always group buys going, you can get nice kits for $350-$375 shipped, you gotta know where to look. I've seen HID's in stock Integra projectors, and it looks fine...

Have you seen OEM HID? If not, your opinion is not backed up by fact but rather than opinion.

Please do not mis-inform people about philip's hid is comparable to the OEM hid. The truth is, the OEM HID is better than an aftermarket kit in an oem non-hid projector housing.

I've seen both, I guess I prefer the way Phillips looks (I haven't seen any other aftermarket kits though). We both have our opinions.

The 94-97 ABS unit is different from the 98-01. The 98-01 is smaller.
