Default Gauge/Taillight problem HELP!

Ok, tonight I was driving down my dirt road and hit some wash board, but I wasnt even going fast. My gauge lights and taillights now do not work. The fuse is slot #8 and it takes a 10 amp fuse. I put it in and switched on my lights and I watched the fuse just blow. Tried another, then tried a 30 even and blew that. So obviously it is not grounding somewhere, but where are the grounding points for these systems or can anyone give me ideas as to what to do? Kinda want this problem fixed tomorrow so I can take my car out at night.....

Thanks guys, I hope this gets fixed tomorrow.

There is a ground near the tail lights, take of the center tail light out and you will see it. But grounds just don't pop off when you hit a bump.

Ok, all the bulbs in the back are fine. The harness under the panel is also really tight and still in good condition, so those grounds aren't the problem obviously. Now I'm wondering what I'm gonna have to do......rip apart my dash to get behind the gauges or what? And the only thing electrical in it is an aftermarket cd player if that could be any part of the problem?

if the fuse is blowing, then the problem isn't a bad circuit ground. the problem is a short to ground on the power side of the circuit. at the dealership i work at this is MOST commonly caused at the adapter harness for aftermarket radios. the factory radio connection has a wire for lights that the aftermarket radios don't use so most people just leave that wire in the adapter loose...when it contacts any metal under the dash, the fuse you described is blown. just for the record most of the adapter harnesses have this wire as orange colored. if this is your case, just tape up the loose end so that it can't touch any bare metal.

Could def be the problem but usually when you send ground to parking light circuits they just turn off. But this is a smart thing to check.

Thankyou! It was up behind the cd player. There was a dark orange with maybe green on it? I dunno, I saw it then put in a new fuse while holding it. Then I touched it to the metal bracing in there and pop, went out. Taped it up and didn't go out tonight and I was driving for like 3 hours....Thanks to everyones input, but this guy knows his crap better than the rest of ya jk.
