coin holder
when my car was broken into a month ago, they ruined the plastic piece under the steering wheel dash. i got it replaced, but now the coin holder does close. its in the right place with the two prongs in place, but when i close it, it just flings open. is there something suppose to keep it closed? i remember about a year ago there was a thread about this, but couldn't find it when i did a search. Thanks
I have the exact same problem as you and posted a thread about it a long time ago: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=439780
Unfortunately, no one was able to help me out.
From what I've heard though, there are supposed to be two springs that keep the cointray shut. I still haven't figured it out or know what I'm supposed to get so I just took the cointray out for the time being since it won't close.
Maybe someone can help us out here.

You're joking, right?
1) Open coinholder.
2) Reach into pocket with hand (right or left, depending on which hand is free at the time.
3) Place coin(s) into coinholder.
4) Close coinholder.
Repeat if you have more coins in pocket.

Yes, and it REALLY sucks to pick up 50 or more coins that could be anywhere by the time you get done driving.

I am a smoker, never once used my ashtray... I prefer not to put coins in it cause it makes more noises rattling in there then in the coin holder itself.

Haha, thanks man, I kept getting steps 1 and 4 mixed up
Maybe you car replace that spring with a rubber band or something?, My g2 tray came with the spring but I had to replace the prongs with bolts since they broke off.

can anyone actually help me out? is there suppose to be that rubber peg thing, or the spring loaded thing? all i have are the new plastic under dash part, and the coin holder.
okay...when you pull your coin holder down to open it....
there should be two metal "U" shaped "springs" on the top of each side(not the tray itself, but in the dash)
if you look at the top edges of the coin holder...
you will see it dips down....this is for the 2 metal U shaped springs catch...
if this doesnt help..i can take pix when i get home...
unless someone else wants to take a pic for ya!!

Took me forever to find this. It's the "Instrument Panel Garnish" listed on Acura Carland's site (http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.org).
is it two clips? or just one? i went to the stealership and ordered one, so hopefully it will work again. any ideas on how to install it? screws? or does it just clip right in?
