I'm looking at used bikes. There is a 1996 CBR F3 with 53,000 miles on it. How long do these things last? Yes, I know it all depends, but honda cars are good for 150K easy. Are honda motorcycles just as good? Is $2500 a good deal for this type of bike with the mileage?

 

It really depends on how well it was treated. I wouldnt buy it though. You can easily find f2's and f3's.

 

They are easy to find, but I'm looking for a good starter bike that goes for about $2500.

 

53k miles is high, but if it's been well-maintained then it shouldn't be a problem. Mine had 37k miles when I got it in January '03, and since I've put on about 2k miles. No major problems. Do you know thte condition of the bike? Can you get a mechanic to check it out?
