i have a zc in a 91 hf i used the hf tranny till it blew whats involved in using the si tranny in my car/

Taking the old tranny off and putting the new one in. Not that hard, but will take a long time.

any differences in axles or hubs will the hf axles work with the si tranny?

Your HF axels should still work with the other tranny.

there are some differences in grooves and spline counts. i think the spline counts only apply to 88's though? the spline count difference is at the axle i think?i'm really not much help am i?
