Default spending 4500 on a motor?

Just got my bonus at work, I am getting a motor (complete swap) H motors . I want power and reliability, I also want all the goodies (like steering and A/C) no H22! I was thinking Type R, It comes with the LSD a good tranny ect. Does anybody know another motor or build with more power same reliability? Or am I good with this swap?

Type R is the best, good torque nice hp and reliable. W/ A/C and P/S. Enjoy I wish I had the money.

well from my experience, i have a gsr in my car right now, as far as reliablitity best investment, but if i had the money i would go with a type r, most of my money invested in my motor have been altered to type r parts, which makes me think if only i had the money i would of spent it on a type r motor, but thats my point of view

You can keep ps and ac with an h22. I kept ps but did not keep ac.

Go with a R motor or a B18C...b20/vtech or LS/vtec are nice but not reliable in my opinion. On the long run any of this motors will make the same power at the end.

i don't know why some people tend to diss h22 when in comes to reliability...i'd say for the money ur gonna spend...get a h22a motor swap, a nice suspension, and a good set of driveshaft ...you'll get power and reliability at the same time

A friend of mine has an H22 ek hatch and could give many reasons why he whished he had gotten a b-series motor.

His main reason was a daily driven car. The H22 in his hatch was a little more than he had barganed* for. "Tractions A Bitch".........."especially when it rains"! Being a daily driven car and not a designated track car, he whished he almost had a little less torque and more top end power. As for reliability, his has been very reliable as well as a couple of my friends preludes. Now as for the ls/vtec, that i am not sure..........my buddy was about to take that next step with his ls, but instead went turbo.

Put it this way, I love my jdm gsr in my hatch, but if i had the money incase anything goes wrong, an ls/vtec would be a whole lot of fun!

no h22, you got to give up everything, it is like getting married when you are 18! It sounds great but it will never last

#1 thing you give up, ground clearance!! I have not seen any with ac, but someone did say you can get it.
I have seen a couple I will say they moved out. A fella down the road has one and it is fasst! I dont think I will be able to beat him, but I am sure I could out handle him!

Y go Ls-VTEC when you already have a 1.8 liter GSR motor? Id prefer to build up the GSR motor since you have it already. p.s. i plan on rebuilding my GSr motor in the future..whats the largest you can bore it out to and still have enough sleeve left for safe all-motor daily driving?

Is this Rex yellow by any chance???

And i am at the same crossroads right now with the debate of which motor. If you have 4500 and look hard enuff you might be able to pull off the K20 or k24. K24 being a bit cheaper since they are everywhere. I have a friend in NC who can get ahold of em easy. Its all on what you want to do.

If you want to be a SERIOUS road race car you can use the "B is it" term and all but you arent i dont think. There was a member on here a few months ago talking about his H22 civic being not bad at the autoX.

Hot EG was in that thread. I cannot remember users name though...

first of all to build a b20 or ls vtec to outperform a type r swap will not be cheaper especially if you want it to be reliable. what is more reliable then a factory made r motor? not an ls vtec. get the r motor b18c-r or b16b. hey buddy vtec isnt spelled VTECK

wow **** off how about that!! im such an idiot i guess if lsvtecs were so great why didnt honda come up with them? how much money did you spend on your whole project including all the tuning you had to have done? come on break it down pig ****** 178 to the wheels w/ a stock jdm itr, 181 to the wheels for your gay setup all that work for 3 horse, i love how all of you think your such tough guys on the internet but the truth is you run and hide when your in the real world if there is ever a conflict. your just the classic case of a little ***** on the internet.

Um, too much torque? There is something wrong with your friend.<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Si-G93 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">
