well i am still waiting to recieve my OEM rear kit from a fellow ht member... in the mean time i have my 98+ rear bumper to attach it to, but it needs to be repainted because it's a different colour than the rest of my car......

my question is...... should i wait to receive the rear kit so that i can test mount it before painting the bumper? or can i go ahead and paint the bumper and then just mount the rear kit when it arrives....? i asking because i know that you have to drill a hole in the bumper to mount the kit..and i don't want to **** up the new paint.... but if it's just a tiny hole somewhere that you can't see anyway..then i will go ahead and paint it before the kit arrives...

 

yeah you have to drill a 2 small holes on each side but they're underneath you can't see it also there is a templete on how to install it somewhere good luck

I would wait until its painted first...if for some reason you ever wanted to take the OEM pieces off...you would have a different color paint job underneath. They really aren't that hard to install...just make sure its lined up before you drill.

 

again, that's not what i'm asking......but thanx...... i just wanted to pre mount the rear pieces to get the drilling done BEFORE i painted the rear bumper..... then paint them individually....... but i don't really want to wait.... i want to paint the rear bumper first... is there any disadvantage to that? like could i scratch up the new painted bumper when installing the kit...?
