Default Removing Passenger Side Driveshaft Axle EP3 (or RSX)

I have the axle out of the hub/knuckle assembly, and all I need to do now is remove it form the inboard side.

I really don't want to screw anything up since axles for this car are still expensive (dealer only part AFAIK), so before I go prying at it, how exactly does the axle come free from the inside portion of the car?

What happend bro? Why are you taking the Axle out for? Did you have the problem that occurs when you try and replace the suspension and the axle trys to shoot out? Well either way good luck with the project bro. Let us know how it turns out.

The CV boot slightly ripped when I was putting the suspension on the car (my own fault as I knicked the boot with a sharp edge). I thought my 'fix' had held it, but it didn't. Oh well, a rebuild kit is only $22. I just need some info how how to remove the axle from the tranny so I can reboot/regrease it.

Ok im still kind of new on the suspension thing, but the CV boot is where again? behind the brakes or is it that small boot that holds the bar that goes across the car from the left to right suspension near the upper pillowball mount.

That's my guess, but I want to make sure the axles on the K series aren't any different before I take out the prybar.

Every black boot on the axle is a CV boot. The boot encases grease to protect/lube the CV joint. You don't want dirt getting into the joint area.

Here is a picture of what I was talking about.

I think we might have made a slight tear in it, but I am not sure.

Now that I look at the post again.... I think this would help out f1nal zeros more than you Todd00.

I did the same thing when installing my Teins. If your talking about the little boot that's sitting on top of the coilover then that's the tie rod end. I just purchased and installed a new one from Honda (about $40) yesterday. Super easy install.

Just take 2 3/4" wrenches and put one on the tie rod where it is notched (right before the large nut) and one on the tie rod end where it's notched. It should twist right off and in about 5 minutes the new one should be on.

I hope this helps if that is what you were referring to. Good luck!

Its the same way u take out the old ones...Use a prybar.
Also, u might want to jack up the car sideways so u dont lose as much tranny fluid, unless u were planning on draining the fluid and refilling.

f1nal zeros
Thats the tie rod end..from the picture it looks fine..however you can change it and its pretty easy..just order the entire tie rod end from Acura (40$)...mark where the tie rod end screwed onto on the tie rod...then screw off the broken one and screw on the new one and get an alignment after that and your done..however I do have to warn you to take off that tie rod end..to loosen it is a bitch lol...goodluck

Thanks guys, I recently checked the tie rod out and everything is up to spec. Also one more questions as I was turning the **** for the dampener counted 25 clicks for both front and back. I thought it was 22 but I started from the begining and counted and got 25. I am now at 14 front and 16 back and loving the ride with out worrying about my set up.

Hey Todd, I read the manuel and it says to keep the clicks between 1-16, so thanks for the warning bro. Also I was wondering if you are runing flex on your car bro, if so pm me I need to ask you a question bro. Thanks
