Well basicly, I just got a 1997 prelude and I immediately went part and picture hunting for that year (1997-2001) and unless I'm missing something, aftermarket part variety for them sucks. Some things I have been looking for is:
1. Lip kits --------------------------------------------------------------------
I just found the Mugen/VIS one and WW makes one. Am I missing something?


2. Black housing headlights ------------------------------------------------
Couldn't find any at all except this but I don't know where it came from:


3. Some amber bumper lights to replace the stock clear ones:
No luck at all

4. And basicly any pictures of NON-Riced-Out preludes.

Just off of searching, I found out that the market for 92-96 preludes kicks ***. What happened to 97-01? Anyway, if anybody has any pictures, tips, online stores, or any helpful links for moding the exterior of the prelude, please let me know. I'm about to start researching the H22 hard core now since I've just about giving up on doing something to the exterior. Can't really find a good aftermarket for the car.

Oh yea, If it helps, its stock color Forest Green. No wing, and completely stock right now.

 

The silence alone shows my point of how empty the 97-01 prelude world of JDM is right now...

 

in my opinion, those prelude's look sick with just a drop and some rims..

 

Clear bumper lenses look disgusting on a 5th gen. The all-white up front looks clean, and they came that way stock. The Wings West RS kit looks the best for ludes, but there are some other options....I'll post up a pic in a minute of a "JDM" looking 5th gen.

 

These are some pics I saved when they were posted on PO (I think?) a while back; I think the owner is on H-T, too....I think this is probably the best looking 5th gen in the world . My friend drives a pearl white one with the WWRS kit on it and dropped pretty low on Teins, and they really are the best looking Honda ever made in person.





Edit: a few more things....what's goin on with the exterior of that car is an OEM front lip, OEM sides (I think), a Mugen rear, the Mugen wing, JDM foglights, and of course the cf hood and the Volks. (To the owner...IM me if you want these taken down)

About the 'black housing' headlights you saw, those came stock on the later years (00+, I think?)

 

^^ kay_animation, you should strive to have a car this clean looking. There is a good market for the 5th gens..just keep your eyes open in the prelude and appearance/cos. forums. imo, oem lip kit (if you can find one) looks the best with a drop and some rims..as above mentioned. And let's be serious, you're a prelude owner now- body kits and lights aren't what preludes are here for. You have a nice beefy engine that has a plethora of mods available on the market for it..wether you wanna get boosted or build up n/a.

Usless facts: I just did a search for the word "prelude" on the whole HT site and got 278 matches.
Then did a search for wht word "civic" on the whole HT site and got 1000+ matches.

The prelude is gonna be hard...

That is very true. I was just going to do the exterior first since I need to learn how to drive the prelude stock anyway and then once I have mastered driving it stock, I'll engine mod.

That's the OEM lip with JDM fogs. If you wanna tell the 2 common lips apart, the WWRS is a little more flared and has 2 little oval-ish vents on the front/side edge.
