long version: i had some of the worst luck tuesday afternoon. having just gotten my car back after about a month (long story short, stupid person #1 doesnt know jack about cars, so i took my integra to a friend who corrected his mistakes and started over and was finished in less than 4 days), i was driving it to my friends garage. i came to a red light next to train tracks. there was one person stopped there. i left 10-15 feet between my front bumper and her rear. she didnt stop where the sign says "stop here on red," so when a train came down, her car was in the way of the safety arm that lowers down. she throws it in reverse, and not slowly backing up, but she guns it straight into my hood. front bumper is smashed, cross support is diagonal, left headlight broken, and hood folded in half. thankfully, i was able to drive it safely to my friends garage after calling the police and filing a report. conveniently, the accident took place in front of a police station. her insurance will be paying for the damages, which seem extensive. one good thing will come from this....i will be having a jdm conversion done rather than replace the usdm front. i would have been cited until we explained what happened, as it looked like i rear ended her. she got off without one for some stupid reason.

short version: stupid person reversed on the road into my front end and will be paying for my jdm front conversion.

dude, that sux....i just got my car back after a similar accident.....only my car was hit by a penske auto parts truck....the damage was similar to urs, and it was in the shop for a month...i tried to get the JDM front but the insurance wouldnt pay for it...so i got a 98-01 conversion (i also did the rear conversion too, due to another accident...long story) good luck with the car and i hope u get it back soon.

yeah, i already have 2000 bucks from when someone changed lanes into me, and theyll send me a check for what it would cost to restore the car to stock. that seems like it would be over 3000, so that with the other 2 should more than cover the conversion, since you can spend the check any way you want. i think my car is cursed. 4 accidents in the past year. none of them were my fault.

 

Sorry to hear about what happened... same thing happened to my buddy in his Accord. Lady didn't see him in her side view mirror and guns it in reverse. Side view!?! What about rear-view?

Anyway, atleast you'll get a JDM front end.
