Default ok just bought a 90 SI hatch,,got some ?'s

i just bought a 90 civic SI hatch,,and im looking to get some things for it

a local shop is selling the greddy SP catback for 450$$ for the car,,is this a good exhaust??
anyone heard this exhaust before??whats it sound like??is it deep
i have the greddy PE's on my 96 GSR and 94 civic DX hatch,,and i really like the deep sound they make
who else makes exhausts for the 88-91 hatchs??

im assuming the AEM CAI is the best cold air intake out there??

and i assume that DC is the best bang for ur buck header???

i plan on doing a swap someday
im also trying to save for a GSR swap in my 94 civic hatch
so i dont know how long it will be before i get a swap for my 90 SI

i think im looking into the ZC swap
and the b16a swap
any thought about eaither??
what r some qtr mile time with both of these??with or without the basic bolt ons or more mods ???

i know the ZC i can use my stock SI trans,,and its a much easier swap,,but wouldnt the b16a b alot faster??how much faster

i would really like to be in the mid 14's in the qtr ,,but any faster would b great

also i am gonna be getting the dents takin out and it repainted in about a month ,,but im stuck on what color to go with
i was looking into the spa yellow
or the silverstone metallic(on s2000's)
but i dont know
anyone got any pics of nice hatchs??

can anyone tell me what colors were stock from 88-91??
im trying not to get a stock lookin color

sorry for all the ?'s at once,,but i guess its better then 10 different post's
thanks
mike

greddy exhaust probably the best sounding/ performing exhaust. Works well with dc header. Cold air from AEM the only way to go. Greddy is quiet when cruising and sounds great at wot. Cold air intake will make the most noticeable difference in sound and power. Now add a cam and youve got rice.

well i dont really wanna put to much money into the stock motor
,,just maybe the basic bolt ons

do u all think that a stock 90 SI is faster then a stock 92-95 DX hatch??
my 94 is a DX and im just wondering which one is faster

also
for the front bumper lenses and corner lights,,can i make them clear myself???
i think i saw somewhere that the bumper lenses r really easy to make clear??how bout the corner's
a local shop has them for 45$$ is that a good price,,or should i go threw the net???

the 90 SI allreadt has the 94-95 GSR rims on it,,so it need to be dropped
so im gonna do the ground control coilovers and some KYB AGX shocks,,
if u look in my sig that what i have on my teg and civic
http://albums.photopoint.com/j/Album...a=13418772&f=0
here is a link to my civic and teg,,kinda bad pics but u get the idea
i am into the nice clean look with my cars

thanks mike

I'd say that the Si is faster than the 5G DX Hatch. I believe that it's a bit lighter and has a few more HP. As for the bumper lenses all you have to do is take out that orange reflector thing inside of the lenses. You can find corners for less than $45 if you look around the net. Try eBay or the partstrader.

nice car...i have the same one too...haha...and i had the same ideas as you...just no money to do anything. i just wanted to comment on the 90 si vs 5g dx question. you'd be surprised at how relatively fast those 5g's are. i have two friends who run constant low 16's with the dx stock motor (only intake). as always, its very dependant on the driver and what shape the motor is in...and yes, my 90 si is faster than their dx's, i can usally take them by a car or so

Yes the 5g's are fast and I would say they are just as fast as the 90 BUT the gears are long in the 5 g which slows them down.

the zc is a nice engine for a bit more power but there is no comparisson to the b16a....pros bout the zc:130-140hp,DOHC,fairly cheap, straight drop using the Si tranny.....pros bout the B16A: 160hp!!!!!!!!!.....the b16a will be alot more expensive but mid 14 in the qtr stock...jus my .02 cents...

ive done the zc and the b16a, and for the money, b16 is the best bang for the buck and not at all more difficult a swap than the zc, and with a vtec you can always put an LS UNDER IT LATER AND FLY!!!
BTW both engines are from jdm, so getting things like the time belts/distributor etc. will be harder to find,
good luck,
gary

For your fron tbumper lights, you can open them up and pull out the orange reflector, walla, instant clear.

Sup i'll try to answer some of these...

"who else makes exhausts for the 88-91 hatchs??"

a lot of companies actually sell exhausts for the 88-91's...my two favorties are HKS and Mugen...if you can get a Mugen exhaust GET IT! only problem is that it's expensive.

"and i assume that DC is the best bang for ur buck header???"

yeah DC is probably you're best bet...

"i plan on doing a swap someday"

same here when i save up for it...hehe..
i live in cali so for a street legal car can't do JDM swaps.
so the ZC is out of the question.

the b16a is probably the best bet however it's not a drop in bolt in engine it'll need a little work to get in to fit just right...smae with any integra engine if you're looking for more torque...there are plenty of 4rth gen's with LS engines.

the easiest and most affordable swap for me right now is the SOHC from the 5th gen EX/SI which gives 130...the engines are hella cheap and drop in a lot quicker with out new engine mounts.

i was looking into the spa yellow

do it...yellow is fresh

can anyone tell me what colors were stock from 88-91??

SI's only came in white, red, and black in 91 they added teal to the SI's
the CRX was the only yellow civic and the DX"s came in an ugly blue, a brown, gold, dark grey, and an ugly wine color...i dont have any brochures this is all from memory.

hope that helps...
