Dash removal

You can't take off just the lid. You'll have to take off the entire airbag. Remove the glovebox. You'll need a long extension and I think it was a 10mm socket. Thats the only way to access the nuts holding down the airbag.
As for taking out the dash, I took off the center console first, took out the guage cluster, took out the screws hidden underneath the corner dash vents, took out the airbag and a few more misc screws and thats it.

Thieves helped me remove my dashboard, they also helped me not have a crappy Pioneer tape deck anymore. Presumably they did the job with a crowbar. I would highly suggest following the instructions from a manual as opposed to taking the route the thieves did with mine.
