Default Coils of H&R Race rubbing/scraping??

Hi, Just the other day turned my rear shocks(Koni yellows) onto soft as the ride was just too damn harsh, even if it did reduce understeer til I can afford a rear anti-roll bar.

And now, Im getting more of a noise I was getting a little of before, and ive looked it over today and Im fairly sure its the coils of the springs rubbing off each other - a kind of scraping(sp? -scrape-ing) noise. Moreso on the rear, but also on the front.

H&R are progressively wound right?? On my rears - will get pic up 2moro, the top 4-5 coils are sitting together - is this right? While the bottom few are spaced out? Thats what should happen isnt it?

The H&R Race springs are on since early February and I think ive covered maybe 5000-6000miles since then. The Koni Yellows are on since August '02 and have covered approx 18,000 miles.

Also have hard-poly bushes on rear [control arm <->shock] & [control arm<->trailing arm] and front [control arm<->shock] bushes.

Any comments/ideas? Should I wrap the springs in something? Is this normal?? Ireland has a farely wet climate in general tho it has been drier than average for bout 6weeks upto 2weeks ago, - could this have anything to do with it?

Ill be pulling everything out to fit rubber dust boots and poly bump stops soon so Id like to sort it then.

Also, my stock bumpstops are still in, and I did not cut them down when fitting as I was not aware you are supposed to, when I fitted em last summer.

Bren
