I searched and found it hard to believe that nobody is talking about the WCHC at Infineon this weekend. Has the NorCal series been cancelled or are there just no participants on the board? I figured the hype and intensity would be building with only a couple of days left to go. Anyone?...Anyone? I was looking forward to going and meeting my future competitors.

 

The WCHC racers don't have quite the following on here as the ECHC folks.

 

I think that ITACivic & I are the only regular posters/NorCal WCHC racers on this board. Fastom, a WCHC racer, has also posted here a few times. There is still a race going on @ Sears (Infineon). Unfortunately, the series hasn't grown as fast as it did back East or in SoCal.
We will be pitting together so look for us. I will have the yellow Civic coupe. Fastom will be in a white ITR. ITACivic will be there in his blue 'hatch. There will also be a few others who don't post here.

 

cool, i'll keep an eye out. maybe the series doesn't do as well up here due to the cost of living. too bad there's not an HPDE to go along with the racing series...that could lure some newbs in and keep the up front costs lower for them.

At almost all N.A.S.A. NorCal events there are racing and HPDE groups. You can join in the fun also. Sign up for an HPDE and pit with us. This weekend's event is full in the HPDE groups. Come by the track and hang out with us. We'll get you involved if you want to.

 

Hmmm...might have to make a trip out there, gotta see if Chris is available too...

This is cool, I was invited by one of the instructors to do some ride alongs at the HPDE but I didn't know it was also the WCHC the same day. I should grab some more film I guess

Wait, u serious?? There IS an HPDE group for the WCHC? My understanding was that it's just a race group. Ooooh, if had known that, I'd have run this weekend. Hmm, looks like I'll be getting ready for the following event then.

There is no special HPDE for WCHC, just HPDE in general. Still, it is HPDE and on the same day as the race groups.

No...it's a NASA event that the WCHC is running at, most, if not all NASA events out here also have HPDE's going on during the same weekend.

Can someone tell me the HC practice/qualifying and race schedule for Sunday? I cannot find the info on Nasaproracing.com

nice pics. didn't get to meet those of you who ran...we got there really late and didn't have much time to hang out. had to get back to SJ. i saw the gray Integ spin coming over the top of the hill...rear end just came around but luckily he scrubbed off enough speed to stay in the grass and miss that porta potty. i was a bit disappointed that there weren't more Hondas in the challenge group. there are a TON of cars on the track at once too...looked like people spent a lot of time in traffic getting backed up in the corners. nice to see that F50 out there and the Ultima GT. I'll definitely be running the hpde group for hyperfest at CA Speedway. that weekend should be a lot of fun.

 

Did you stay for the race? They were behind on the scedule because of a few bad crashes. The gray 'teg actually belongs to John. He is still driving HPDE until he gets licensed. He will hopefully be joining the HC race group soon.

 

No. We had to hit the road before the race began.

 

Bummer. I wish I could have met you guys. I was busy between instucting a friend & doing my own car stuff. I won't be @ the June event. My teammate will be there for Team RNR, though. Stop by & say hi.

The last three events of the year should be really good. All three of them will be 'crossover' events.

July will be Fontana & Hyperfest. It will be our first time there. With the NorCal racers going down to SoCal, we should have some decent fields.

In August, we will be running with TC @ Thunderhill. The PacNW cars will be coming down to win some bragging rights. It will be cool to meet JohnG, Greg M. & Scott R.

October we will be back to Infineon for the last NorCal WCHC event. This time the SoCal guys will be traveling to us. Another Hyperfest event.
