Default 2002 Civic Type R Frontend

I was going to purchase the Ep3 R frontend and I know that in order for it to fit you have to remove the front bumper support. I was thinking when it is removed to cut about an inch off the center of the support/reweld it to be able to fit under the Type R frontend. I would feel more comfortable if I had the support. What does everybody think? Good idea/Bad idea?? Anybody have any other ideas?

Easiest way is to purchase the JDM bumper supports for the front and rear and yes we have confirmed it works and bolts directly on.
