I have searched for this but I only found more questions. First, Are the cylinders Nikasil coated? (I am pretty sure, but after reading and archived post I am unsure). Second, Since the type-s oversize pistons are larger than stock you would need to bore the cylinders right? BUT isn't that bad for the cylinder walls (FRM)? From owning dirt bikes I know if the cylinders are Nikasil coated then boring it would remove the Nikasil and make it more likely to gall. Does anyone have type-s pistons for an extended perion of time (>75,000 miles)? Sorry for the newbie questions and TIA.
i got mine bored, you need 3 stones and a special lubriacant... because frm isn't a polish finished more like a dull finish... looks like a wetsanded clearcoat.. not shinny...
my engine shop could do it so yours should be able to aswell.. call your manchine shop to check into it .. it can be done.

I agree but I was just wondering why they would make them , but not be able to use them.

So it is basically just a little more agressive whoning rather than boring, right? Sorry for the questions.
Oh yeah, how many miles do you have since this?
