I have been through a year and a half of restriction and a year of suspension.

Take my advice right now. If you are going to drive on suspension, DON'T GET CAUGHT. Better yet don't drive at all. Start turning down activities that require you driving and always get rides when you can. Since you're not spending as much on gas, maybe you could offer that money to your friends who drive you everywhere. In Michigan if you get caught, your original punishment doubles. It's not worth it.

On a brighter note, depending on your situation, you may take the matter to court and get the SOS's ruling changed. I did this about a year ago and won. Instead of another 6 months of suspension I got a restriction to driving to/from school/work. Good luck, and slow the **** down.

I was in a similar/lighter situation.. i received 2 speeding tickets in less than a year apart from eachother, both 100+ miles. Both tickets combined equaled somewhere around 1250$+

I also got my license suspended for 6 months... I also went to an upper division of dmv in attempt to receive a temp driving license to no avail! SO I said **** it.. I had to drive for work which is a 34Mile round trip.. I lucked out.. in those 6 months I had no problems. Had I gotten caught.. I would have been pwned!

guys.. be careful out there

I just got my license back after having it suspended for the last 3 months. I just kept driving the whole time. I had my license suspended for 3 months last year but didn't get lucky enough to make it all 3 months. I got pulled over and arrested for driving with a suspended license and now I am on probation and it sucks. My advise would be to only drive when you have too if you decide to.

Luke,
That blows.... Are you going to be able to get a hardship? That will at least help you get from a to b.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune.

I have a very good friend who is the local hero so to say when it comes to import modding and selling parts...only prolem is he couldn't drive during the past 3 or so years so it was kinda like Moses not being let into the promised land...

Good luck!

Glad to hear the courts are taking care of douchebag dangerous drivers like yourself. I'm glad the streets are just a little safer now.

Riding your bike to work should give you lots of reflection time. Time to think about how you'd feel if some ******* in a riced out crx lost control at 100 mph and plowed you down like a mailbox. -Jaseun

Right.

I'm sure you practice your unskilled driving on public roads too..

What makes him more dangerous than you?

No I don't 'practice' on public roads. There are sanctioned places to drive fast safely.

He's been busted so many times the courts have taken his license away. I think in order to get busted that much he must have been driving in a reckless manner continously while behind the wheel. Not just occasionally (not that that's acceptable either).

I have no points, no tickets for over five years and I'm a mature adult who has nothing to prove to anyone. That's why I'm not dangerous on the road.

I guess I'm the only one here who isn't going to pat him on the back and say 'way to go man, you sure are cool' Sorry, I think people should here both viewpoints.

I wouldnt pat him on the back. But it the same time some of us can empathise with his situation. It sucks, and at the same time I hope he learns from his mistakes and drives in a more sensible manner. I did.

For the record, he DOES have over 50 points in a pretty damned short time period. Not exactly a stellar record but he does admit that he needs to slow down.
