Default Direction Problem with A/C

94 accord lx

a/c varies from time to time.. I push on the [head/foot] blower.. and it just blows to feet.. than i try to switch it back to just [head] and it doesnt work.. seems like a sensor malfunction or something.. anyone know the remedy??

If all your fuses are good, there may be a problem with the mode control motor on the left side of the heater box.

Nope, left side of the heater box. Above the gas pedal.

My wife's honda accord 94 with 208,000 miles on it does the same exact thing. I ended up just leaving it alone and let the a/c blow to my face. You have to keep on messing with the buttons to get it to go where u want it to. SUCKS!

Good luck,
Sid

there is a problem with the 94/95 accords where the solder joints where crappy on some of the circuit boards for the control unit. depending on how good youare with a soldering iron, you can try to clean up some of the joints.

You can see if it moves through it's full range of motion. Does it move at all? Does any of the linkage bind?
