TSX Dyno Plot Inside .....
judging by the dyno, the 200HP rating seems to be pretty much spot-on (makes about the same 170 at the wheels that an RSX-S does).
but the 166ft-lbs of torque on the TSX apparently is WAY underrated.
this particular TSX appears to be making more like 175-180ft-lbs. (153 at the wheels).
if the pic doesnt work ...copy and paste it into your browser

God damn, thats more tq# than a stock B18C5 will ever make.
Very interesting.........Bert who's been thinking a whole lot about the next K-series motor plant.

considering the TSX just barely came out I doubt anyone has swapped the motor into anything yet, or that anyone sells "the swap". a swap has to come from a car, and unless a car is stolen and stripped, or wrecked, there won't be too many swaps for a little while at least.

I definitely can't feel the 153 torque when I test drove one. May be the TSX is just too heavy. I can't believe how stiff the stock suspension is, it handle very good, much better than the RSX.

I test drove the TSX and it had 35 miles on the car. It handled very well and it had decent power. Shifting was smooth and precise when I shifted from 1-6. I tried taking the car to redline and shifting and the car held its own. Power was there from low-mid and top end was decent. Over all I would purchase this car in the future as a family car. The S will more then likely be a track car and the TSX will soon be my daily driver.. or will the new RX-8 be my daily driver? hehehe...
Then again I do love wagons..... WRX..

True, but then again the TSX comes all pimped out with in-dash screen, leather front and back seats, 4 door, and nice rims. I would hate to rip out all the luxury items to make it a track car. That is what the RSX is for
Or I could always get a civic type R and call it a day at the track.. oh well still got plenty of time to think about it.

Which makes it harder as there will only be 15,000 TSX's available this year, of those only 30% are going to be 6spd's.
I test drove a red one with the factory body kit and Gunmetal wheels. I liked it. Wow, that shifter is low!
Did anyone try to ask for pricing, it seems these aren't going out the door with any deals. I asked for the "Costco" price and they would have only taken off $300...
Thanks,
Victor

The wing still looks like ***.. It looked like *** for the RSX and it still looks like *** for the TSX..hhhmm. maybe you should put that wing on your car steven..LOL.
Out the door price I was quoted was $27,340 with all the nice extra bling bling options. I am really considering getting this car, but then again I am also looking for a house as well. hhhmm.. car or house.. I can live in both..LOL....

It is not pretty much an Accord Type R. The Accord Euro R here in Japan has the same K20A as the Integra Type R. So it has 220ps at 8000rpm and 21.0kg-m of torque at 6000rpm. The K24A Accord is just the normal Accord here with 200 ps at 6800rpm and 23.7kg-m at 4500rpm. So basically the TSX is about the normal Accord here in Japan, but it does come with a manual transmission, although the gear ratios are different between the Accord Euro R and TSX. Here are the ratios
Accord 1-3.266/2-2.130/3-1.517/4-1.147/5-0.921/6-0.738/Reverse-3.583/
Final-4.764
TSX 1-3.267/2-1.880/3-1.355/4-1.028/5-0.825/6-0.659/Reverse-3.583/
Final-4.760
The tire sizes are 215/45/17 for the Euro R and 215/50/17 for the TSX.
Weight of the vehicles 1390kg Euro R, TSX manual 1465kg or 1470kg, so either 165 or 176lbs heavier as well. Even the 2.4 Accord that only comes with the Auto5 comes in at 1450kg (33 or 44lbs lighter). And that is with the Sunroof and side airbags, although this model comes with 16" wheels. The normal Accord with 17" wheels doesn't have a sunroof option and weighs another 44lbs less.
So as you can see, it may be similar in some ways, in the engine department it is not at all. It has 17hp less but about 14lbs/ft more of torque.

Yes, it is a very heavy car indeed. However, I add to say that the TSX; in stock trim, it felt more comfortable in handling, quietness, a better overall balance feel on a true Honda than the GM-Engineer USDM Honda Accord.
Yes, thats how I feel about the new Accords (or the Accords from '98 to present).
The TSX has a nice pick-up in the top gears and don't see having a problems unlike the Honda Accords that has over numerous Recalls, service bullitens, and falling apart-piece **** cars.
Overall, the TSX is a very well built car.
Boy, wait till an Honda engineer see my quote.

Well the TSX in it's "stock" form was pure pimpness. The car I test drove came with the 17 inch rims, in-dash screen and the most comfortable ride ever. When I mashed the gas the car did not hesitate to shot off like a rocket. When I would go around a corner the car would point and shot. Body roll was decent and was not that noticable. Only thing on the car that caught me off guard was the gas pedal on the ground. That will take some getting used to. Overall this car handled better then those boats Acura call's the CL, TL which had massive bodyroll when I test drove them.
