help, 5th gear slipped out for no reason
my 5th gear slipped out on me twice yesterday for no reason. i was driving normal on the highway, i had my foot on the gas and then it just slipped out. i wasn't doing anything abnormal. anyone know what might had caused this.

I suppose it could; why do you ask about the spring & ball? Did you dismantle some of that stuff? That stuff is external, it's easy to check or fix. More likely its an internal problem, but you may as well cross your fingers & check the easy stuff first.
