what the hell, all of a sudden, my dash lights are dim!

they've been hooked up to a rocker switch for the last 3 years without any problems. it's only my cluster lights and climate control lights, but my cd player ('99 civic Si unit) is still bright amber, and it's run off of the same parking light wire (red/black) as the rest of them. the outside parking lamps are bright as normal as well. so it's just my cluster/cc lights...and yes, i've tried the dash brightness knobbie, it's maxxed out on brightness.

what are some of your ideas as to why they would dim?

 

You could check the fuses. My dash did that when I opened my headlights. A 10 amp (i think) fuse was dead. Replaced it and it fixed my problem.

 

turn ur stereo a lil lower.... then they will light back up

check for any bad ground that are causing load..... check for corrosion in batt.... check for loose conections..... do a simple step checkup ////

 

check the dash dimmer and see if it is hot, or cold, if it is hot, it needs to be replaced or cleaned, if it is cold (also check to make sure there is power there)it may need a fuse
