The TC Thunderhill race weekend announcement and race schedule is now posted...

HC racers please note the August 1st entry deadline if you want to enter an extra race group for $99.00.

Also note, there is a full or half day test-n-tune track time available on Thursday.

NASA members: AMB rentals will be available at the track and fees may differ from what is posted. Contact Mike (civicrr) for information.

so what group is HC going to be running? i dont seem to see it listed in the schedule. also, i am a bit confused over the pricing, does the $449 deal not apply to us as well?

Group 9.

The Honda Challenge race is in imbedded in the "Rising Sun Championship" where we are sharing the track with the Mazda Pro-7 and SM guys in a split start race.

There is a flyer on the TC website that may help explain it.

The double HC race is 350.00 and if you want to enter an extra race group it's 99.00 if you enter and pay before August 1st.

EDIT: leak-down and compression test scheduled for mid-next week. Picking up spare core this weekend just in case I have to make a mad dash for Canada...

Probably a Dumb question and has probably been answered elsewhere...
Does this event count in the points for the Nor Cal / So Cal. Honda Challenge?
I'm sure there is a very good reason... but why don't they have Test & Tune on Friday? Any of us from SoCal who have never run at Thunder Hill will have to leave here on Wednesday! Thats a long weekend in anyones schedule!

I understand that this is an official points weekend for the NoCal Honda Challenge series. I would suspect that the SoCal guys would be awarded points in the Northern Region but not for down south. Mike would be a better person to ask...

I hear you on the long weekend! It's the same for us NW guys. It's even a harder sell to the Canadian racers.

Friday is a TC practice/qualifying day. We don't have anything to do with the Thurday T&T... I think the track offers that for THill newbie guys like me.

 

I plan on being there Thursday for learning the track too.

Boy are we going to consume alot of consumables that weekend!

Scott, who is going to be looking for some video's from Thunderhill in a month so I can start working on my mentalization...

 

TC is hosting this round of the NorCal WCHC. We will be, in effect, a guest group with them. It will be an official NorCal points race. As Greg mentioned, TC has the track Friday, Sat. & Sun. There will be a practice & qualifying session on Friday. TC has run this event/format for a while.

AFAIK, open testing for licensed racers will be availble from Thunderhill on Thursday.
