Cheap coilvers on ebay total crap?
I'd say you get what you pay for, personally I wouldn't cheap out on something my entire car and my life depends on. Suspension, brakes, and etc.
OMG do0d dont do it..my bro bought them(this was before he first really hit the scene)bad choice...jus save up your dolo and get some good ****...i recommend tein highly..matter of fact we jus put em on yesterday...they ride so much better...

You could get some good springs for the price you would be paying for those. Yes they will work, no they will not ride well.

i was hoping this was a joke... Ht is going down the drain
Ebay coil overs are trash. The springs are very harsh and the ride is insanely bouncy. My buddy has them on his gsr with tokico blues... the car is still bouncy. Please save another 100 for some ground controles and then another 300 for some kyb agxs or similar shock

From what I've heard from ppl they are always really bouncy and just a really sh*tty ride...if theyre only going to be on your car for a few months might as well just pick up some springs for 150 bucks.
The reason I was looking at these was because I'm only gonna have the car a couple months and I have a body kit going on so I dont' know how much I want to lower my car so I don't scrape and crack it. I know that real coilvers are much better, I have a set of Koni's on my GSR but was just curious as to how crappy these ebay coilover actually were. I"m not interested in spending 600+ on suspension if I'm just gonna sell the car at the end of the summer anyway. I know I know if you're not gonna do it right, don't do it at all. I'll probably just pick up a cheap set of spring to lower it 1.5 inches or so and hope they ride better than the cheap coilovers.
If you are selling your car....save the money on the springs and body kit and put it into your next car. Don't waste the money, b/c you won't be able to get full return on your suspension and body kit.

The car is wrecked though, so it will need body work anyway, figured I'd throw a body kit on to help sell it better, there's a lot of rice eatin' punks kids around where I live that don't know crap about cars.

If you're putting on a body kit you should wait anyway. Once it's on your car it's going to look lowered anyway and you just might like that. Don't waste your money on something that you're going to hand over to someone else.
Just like others have said, "You get what you pay for".
Personally, I wouldn't do it. Invest in parts in terms of quality and not how cheap they are.

You diffenately get what you pay for. Sure you'll be lowered but you'll ride like **** and bounce all over the road.
Save your cash and get JIC FLT-A2s. These things are amazing my friend has them on his 92 Civic Sedan. They ride like nothing else, you get spring rate of your choice when you buy them. His car doesn't bounce or anything just nice and stiff. Unlike Tein they come with Pillow Ball mounts, you don't have to buy them seperately.
I'm getting these for my DC2 fo sho

I'm sure these are crappier than say GC or Skunk, but what makes them crappier? Are the springs just made of cheaper metal or spring rates different that make them bouncy or what?
definetly cheaper material...plus sometimes you are missing stuff and you have to retro fit things to fit...do0d my left rear adjustable spring perch was like bent...so i ditched them got the teins and bam great ride great looks..ill try to get some pics of it soon...

you almost seem like you want to talk yourself into believing these Ebay kits are just about as good as other kits and looking for some people here to back you up. Thats not gonna happen, at < $130 for the complete set, this company is STILL making money selling the kit. So it MUST be worth (quality) even less than that!
That cheaper than springs alone and the hooked up price. Unless the parts are stolen (or illegal in someone) it has to be of inferior quality.
shop for something that you know works, or buy used parts... we "suggest" you don't get these but its your car.

Yeah, that is actually what I was hoping for, somebody to tell me they aren't "that bad" but everybody says they are total crap so I think I'll try and find a set of used springs or something?

honestly the sleeve part is probably just as shitty as ground control. i can bend that aluminum with my hand.. .i dont trust it on my car AT ALL.
Now the springs GC uses are eibachs. CLEARLY industry proven springs. That is the main difference. If you could get the EBay elcheapo sleeves and eibach springs for less than the cost of GC's, you will have the same thing pretty much honestly, but with the price of GC's going down so much, why not just get them?

Now for sake of clarification, are you saying that GC's perches are crap? If so, can you back it up with a little more info b/c this is one of the first's I've heard about GC's stuff not being quality.

Don't listen to the magazine-fed sheep on this one that believe every ad they see in import racer.
Unless you're really serious about suspension/autocrossing you won't notice much of a difference at all if you put them on with good shocks. It's just so much easier for everyone to be an elitist ***** and tell everyone on the internet to get teins and a turbo. I love how everyone acts like cash ******* grows on trees. I must've forgot that because something is expensive it must be better.
Not everyone on here wants an end all be all, ***** to the wall rocket.
