I was goin' down the 215 in the Vegas area in 5th gear at 85mph. All of a sudden my car started to lose power and my engine started to smoke. A second after that, my engine turned off and my brakes weren't working. To pull over, i had to use my E-Brake. The weird thing is, i didn't hear any explosion and next thing you know, it dies. When i pulled over, i busted out the flash light and saw oil come out of a hole on my block like a faucet. What do you guys think caused it ?? I'm thinkin' of gettin' a ZC or a SOHC VTEC for a change.
you broke a rod it could be caused by to much oil not enough oil you could have sucked up water it could be number of things that caused the rod to brake 1 and 4 rods brake 1dt for some reason
very similar thing happened to me, goin about 80, passes someone, doin about 95, loose power, runs shitty, didnt blow a whole in my block though luckily, think i just fried my piston rings. need to do a compression test to make sure.

You guys think so? Thanks for your input. I found a SOHC VTEC for 750 off a '94 EX. So that will be my new engine.

all the other junkyards in vegas rarely have anything newer than 91
for 750...might as well go with a b16 or buy a sohc zc for 500 from HMO..only a 3 1/2 hour drive
