just wondering who uses b16's and who uses ZC's(DOHC). OR which do you think is better and why?

 

b16a if you can afford the extra Money.
both are good motors it just depends what you want to do with it.

 

chose the zc cuz its cheap and you get about 130hp.

 

I rode in a B20 CRX the other day, pulled hard. then 2 weeks lattor he put a vtec head on it.... that thing hauls!!! Cant wait to get my B20 in!

I'm rollin on a B17 baby ....Used it to standout in the crowd of B16's...and it was a good engine after my '92 GSR got totaled

 

stickin with my 1.5 because i dont have an engine lift and its my daily driver.

I think the D16A6 is underrated nowadays. Everybody is too anxious to swap their engine . . .

Of course that's MHO.

 

A little part of me wishes I would have stayed with my ZC, maybe it's because the kid that owns it now can almost keep up with me. That thing would have been nice with a turbo, but it's going to be a lot nicer having the B16 Turbo.

Same here a6 for now...ZC if I need a new engine anytime soon..Id rather build the d16a6 but arias pistons are like $400 bux..then $300 for a crane cam..and other parts..make the d16a6 to expensive for me to build..it is a good engine IMO

 

D15b SOHC VTEC, Not one of the options so i just put 1.5 SOHC, because...well it is.

My favorite motor is the b18a/b...just love the driveablity even stock. So many options...lsvtec...all motor...boostin...and the motors are fairly cheap. My favorite budget motor all the way!

 

D16A6 so I don't get bumped to SM class when I'm auto-xing.

 

D15 for now.... D16A6 when its built.... Might be a SOHC VTEC when done....

i have it because it came with the car i like it. i pulled on a friends car that had a usdm d16z6 running the same everything as me, except it was in a crx. he was stripped, and i was full interior with my system. i got a bout a half car from 3rd to 4th gear (freeway pull)

my motor pulls pretty strong for how much oil it burns lol

 

i've got a 4 year old ZC swap.

i've had a multi-point 1.5, the ZC, then a B20 VTEC. and the ZC was/is by far, my favorite.

 

b18a for me..look at my sig

 

b18a for mee too. Why go VTEC when the biggest VTEC cams get rid of it anyway .
