h22 4th gen (93-96 with h22 and 92-96 with h23).. both are good motors.. most perfer h22.

 

whats the diffrence and why?

 

the difference in the h22 and h23 are for example vtec (on h22) and the h23 is 2.3 liters i believe. there are other differences but to better help you we would need to know what direction you are taking with the car. For example i think the h23 would be a better beginners platform for boost due to the lower compression. So what are your plans?

 

93-95 h22 vtec obd1 190hp and 158lbs tq 96-01 h22 195 hp 156 lbs tq vtec obd2 92-95 h23 non vtec obd1 160 hp and 158 lbs tq i think
