GC coilovers 5th gen vs. 4th
ANybody know if there's a difference between 5th gen GC coilovers and 4th gen GC coilovers? I know that the 4th gen suspension setup has a bracket or a clamp or somesuch that holds a brakeline in place that the 5th gen does not have, but this is on the shock housing i believe? Is there any reason a 5th gen setup would not work on a 4th gen?
Also, does anyone know the stock spring rates on a standard (non custom spring rates) 5th gen GC coilover setup?

i think the spring rate is the only difference. dont think thats written in stone. a generic coil over is a generic coil oil. throw down the money for a true tein coil over. thats what im doing.
Well, i plan on TEIN FLEX w/ the electronic control, just not anytime soon b/c $1300 for a suspension setup is just plain more than i can afford right this second. But on the other hand i'm tired of seeing my car sit so high so something has to be done about it short term (for a year or two). I'd prefer not to put sprint lowering springs or some other cheap option, so i'm looking at other alternatives for the time being, probably used.
Check out my setup. Wasn't overly expensive and I didn't need a camber kit. Handles SO MUCH BETTER and it is even smoother than when it was stock. Good luck playa.

GC coilovers arnt a cheap option. how much they run you? 300???? 400????
thats almost half of what you need for the tein! if your going to get the teins in a year, why spend the money on the GC coilovers?!?! spend that money on something else.... or save it and get the true coilover system. does this make sense to anyone else?

the GC is a $300 setup and when paired with koni shocks i would imagine would perform just as well as a low end tein setup which you are referring to. plus with GC/koni, you can easily upgrade spring rates and have the shocks serviced. tein's us headquarters have been known for a long turnaround time.
either way you will have a very nice suspension.
