H-T NooB here, with a tiny question...
When Jarred Silvers was here in Colorado at PFI (going from N/A to FI) he showed me his HyTech (sp?) side-exit race header from his old setup. Now I admit it was an extremely nice header, but when he told me it cost $1,500+ I just about died. I already don't want the SMSP unit...long story...so does anyone know of another shop/tuner/company/engine builder who builds high quality SS B-series side-exit headers? Or what the retail is on a standard (not like Jarred's unlimited modification, super stepped, one off header) B-series race HyTech header?
Thanks in advance, I've kinda out done the Comptech ITR peice and a Greddy 4-1 2.5".

SMSP and Hytech both make awesome products. If you have seen dynos for either of the two you will know that they both make great.
Like you mentioned though, they come with a hefty price tag, but i think if you want the most power, they really aren't too many other choices.
vtecvoodoo runs a nice looking Header Tech header (i think), so maybe give them a call. Comptech makes a race header also, but is over a grand too.
What didnt you like about SMSP?

Mike, well basically I've never actually looked at a good SMSP header. I've seen the mild steel versions and they didn't make anymore power than a DC race. The welds are poor, IMO, and I've never had luck with their product on my current setup. So, I steer clear of SMSP.
But Hytech or HiTech (again sp?) makes their product look amazing and offer race support on their manifolds.
But, I just dropped my last bit of cash on another set of Arias 13:1's, bearings, and spare slicks...
So, I really can't afford $1500 before the next race in CO (Late June), yet I need something better than the Comptech ITR header I already have. So I was just curious if anyone in a more centralized place (Cali/Florida) knew of something really good for a bargin. But, I guess you get what you pay for.
Thanks,
Dan

i know enzo from header tech would be willing to work with on, there quality is pretty good. and then the hytech peice is a very good header but its also hella spendy, the header that lip had on his car was something like 1800$, but well worth it. dc has a race header but i dont know anybody thas has ever tried it
