Unfortunately the Gameboy cartridges are ROM only, and the small amount of non-volatile RAM available on the cartridge (for game saves) wouldnt hold enough data to really be worth anything.
Along the same lines though is the maxQdata http://www.maxqdata.com/ leveraging the PocketPC architecture. (pretty cool system actually, can use GPS as well)

yeah, it would be pretty slick if we could get that system going for NASA races. Would be a great resource for crews, and make it more interesting for the fans as well.
