Default Is there any way to identify Skunk2 valve springs and retainers?

Do they all look the same or are there any surefire way to visually determine the difference between Skunk2 parts and other OEM parts?

Aren't the skunk2 retainers ti? If so, that should be pretty obvious from OEM ones.

skafia, if you have the skunk stuff with you, you can borrow my stock valve springs and retainers to compare. it should be obvious when you have them side by side.

No. My friend got some motor work done and supposedly the guy put skunk2 ti retainers and valve springs in. He's going to swap cams soon so we're just wondering what'st he surefire way to tell.

It appears that the retainers are Ti so they're lighter in color, and it also appears that the skunk2 valve springs are more of a bronze color, as opposed to the OEM black.

retainers should be blinging polished and the valve springs should be grey/bronze/ish... stock valve springs are bronze not black.

whose doing the work? reputable shop?

The work is done.

One Motorsports. My friend didn't ask for the stock stuff so we just have to take his word for it now.
