This is some random question, but its too funny because i dont believe it. This kid with a 98 Civic EX claims his motor will go to 45 mph in 1st gear using a 98 hatchback tranny?? i think its total bullshit. Anyone support or refute this??

 

well I'm asumming its an EX motor using a non EX tranny...cuz no Ek hatch came in an EX model, so therefore it would be a 98 EX coupe or sedan (d16y8) running a 96 to 00 cx or dx tranny......

Yes its possible...been awhile since I've driven a cx/vx/dx tranny but 110 is possible in 3rd so I don't see why 45 in 1st is not.....

 

my dx goes 73 in second, believe 40 in 1st

 

i can go to 40 in first...

 

I hit 40-42mph in first.
