Default JDM ITR 5 lug conversion, what axles 36mm...

when doing a JDM ITR 5 lug conversion on a EK, what axles are used the 36mm or 32mm ones. I've always been under the impression that you use the OEM ones(32mm) that the car originally had until you do a motor swap. Now i read that the jdm ITR axles are 36mm on the outer and 32 mm on the inner, TIA

i don't think you can. but then again i don't know anything.

CTR and USDM ITR 5 lug conversions will work with the stock axles, however.

dude, i think all honda axles are 32 on the engine side, only the JDM ITR is 36 on the hub side.

I know some people put prelude outsides on their b series axles, dont think you can do that with d series axles.

Your other option is to buy some 32mm hubs from the dealer and have them pressed in. Not sure the inner bearing race is the same size though. Since you will probably separate (ruin) the bearings taking the hub out, you could always get some US bearings too, but I am not sure the outer diameter is the same.

The axle is 3 pieces, 2 hubs and 1 shaft. All he did was replace a hub, the sizes on the outside did not matter. USDM B series motors use 32mm axles, JDM ITR use 36mm. Either get some JDM ITR axle hubs (or axles) or replace the outer hubs on your current axles. Go to an axle shop and they'll get you squared away. Make sure you get ones with the ABS ring if your car has ABS. This is a lot easier than it sounds, just go to an axle shop.

JDM ITR was 5lug/36mm from 98&gt;, they were 4 lug before 98 All others B series, EK9, EDM and USDM 5 lug are all 32mm. If you have 36mm hubs, you just need JDM ITR outer joints, though heard rumours the CRV had 36mm outer joints that fit. If you have 32mm 5 lug hubs any b series axle will work, i know as i have 32mm outer joints on JDM ITR shafts in an B18C EG

If ya need the joints, i have a mint set, shipping will cost ya bit since i am in the UK, but will fix the problem

Very close but not quite. ONLY 98 JDM ITR's came with 36mm axles. 99-01 came with 32mm units. Everything else is right
</TD></TR></TABLE>

Since i have a 00 JDM ITR motor and shafts in mine, and can guarantee that it came with 36mm joints/hubs, it was not only 98 JDM ITRs that came with it

Make sure your info is good as i know mine is, as the motor came out of a JDM ITR-X which was only 00-01, i saw the car so i know for sure, i aldo know others with JDM ITR's, all are 36mm AFAIK

To repeat ALL 98-01 JDM ITR's are 36mm axles

All of the other info may be good, like i said, heard somat about CRV outers bolting onto SOHC shafts, not sure about the details though
