AEM pulley kit...
i was wondering how reliable this is. i wanted some because i have heard that people made up to 9 WHP. i have an auto too. is there gonna be any short-term/long-tern damage to my car? i know that im not suppose to have a system and my lights will dim and stuff like that. i was wondering if i could also get a lightweight odessy battery, would this affect my car more? and what if i just used the AC and PS pulleys and not the alternator, would i still gain power, but my lights wont dim and such? sorry about all the questions tahnks
You don't get 9hp just from pullies. They help, but not too much. Your rpms will rev a little faster than with your OEM pullies. If you get a system, you could just buy a Power Cap and that will keep your radio and lights from dimming. I used to have them in my car and I never had a problem
I got the pullies and barely noticed any gain. No dyno. After about a year, the power steering pulley fell off, and wedged into the crank pulley, and broke. Left me stranded for a while, cuz I didn't want to risk breaking the crank pulley until I got the car to a shop. Had to pay for a short tow. They say you get better gains with the crank pullies, like Unorthodox, but there are harmonics issues to ponder.
My friend gave me his power cap, but I've seen them at Car Toys for a little over $100..Its real easy to hook up. All you need to do is hook up a power wire and ground wire, then you hook your amp up to the cap and run it off that
