Spark Plug Torque Spec please for G3 GSR
my friend with a 95 gsr looked around and got an answer of 21. ft lbs. i think he called honda or something. so you can torque it down to around 20 ft. lbs with a torque wrench or you can jus turn the spark plug with a spark plug socket and ratchet 1/4 in. turn after the washer on the spark plug touches the block. jus tighten that **** down so it wont come off and also not too tight that it'll strip the threads out.
Thanks fellas!
I always used that 1/4 turn more once washer hits technique, but I got a torque wrench now, heh.
I threw away my directions for the TQ wrench, but you're supposed to set it lower when you use the extension since you have a bigger lever or whatever the physics/engineering behind it is. Maybe it's 21, but you set the wrench to 13 with the extension?

Yeah,
That makes sense. I just remembered something from when I skimmed the directions

Thanks for the tip on storing the wrench on a low setting, but I did know that already, hehe.

Hey Franz,
Since you've already gotten the correct answer, let me give the DFH Smartass answer... torque it 'til it breaks, then back off about a 1/4 turn.
Kinda like that strut tower thingy, right? Was that before or after you developed the massive forearms? J/K
Take care,

LOL,
I'm just starting to bulk back up after driving the cushy Audi for 1.5 years, so I'm prob not going to break any bolts soon, heh.

And extension should not change the torque setting on your torque wrench. (no adjustment needed)
Adjustment is when you use the torque wrech with "crow foot" since the radius has changed.
Everyone - feel free to add and/or correct the 2 sentences above.

Fran - I just hand tighten it and then snug it down to about a 1/4 turn more. It's worked for every car I've ever owned.
I wouldn't think it would matter much unless you are trying to index your plugs.
