I dont blame NHRA for not going back to houston. Houston doesnt promote it for ****. Why do think they didnt go back this year? Because they are trying to eliminate going to the "bad" tracks.

I was surprised when Nopi had alot of people here for the dallas race. I hadnt seen a crowd like that in over 5 years.

I have gone to four races in TX over the past two years and at every race, the racer and fan turnout was terrible. I can understand why sanctioning bodies are looking elsewhere.

Figures why they never had another Mobil One Import Challenge back in Houston again cause the turnout was small.

I think it's a shame the event sponsors don't promote it. I think we have an excellent track.. but that's fine I guess san antonio and dallas it will be

I was thinking the same thing about the race results. I was curious who was there.

so that is why they won't post the results. I thought it was more they were ashamed of the hog wash they allowed andrew tran to pull just to break the lights. But thats a completely different story.

Just as a note, I see why there is a low turn out in texas. I recently DROVE to palm beach fl to watch the nhra races and noticed that they were advertising it on on a few radio stations... I never hear any advertisements here. Isn't that up to the sanctioning body to pay for advertisments? There is alot of imports in houston. In closing... I will just thank my blessings knowing that houston raceway park has done some justice. They now have import nights every thursday for all 4 & 6 cylinder cars. Translation.. no more waiting 1-2 hours in line between runs. Perfect for tunning sessions. The turn out has been getting bigger every week.

I remember last year. I went to an import race at baytown and maybe 1k people showed up. That night was import expo car show I think it was and there was easily 5 times as many people there. Its sad, I dont think they are doin a good job promoting these things cause there are TONS of imports in houston. hell, texas period.

Alex, here in dallas they have radio advertisements and last years NHRA had 2 radio stations promotoe the race. Ennis even sends out flyers to people to remind them about the races. Now, this just started and looked like a great success with the turn out we had in dallas. I had people come up to me at the nopi race tell me they came from San Antonio and came to dallas because no one was at the IDRC race.

I dont know the pollitics behind what tracks does what, but I think its up to the local organizer to promote it. Look at Javier Ortega from Englishtown, he promotes the hell out of the import events and has proven to be successfull. Englishtown is the Mecca of import racing. Its sad because Houston has one of the nicest tracks around and its like a waste. Plus, racing is very serious and hardcore in houston, but you guys are getting screwed bad. You might want to call the local track and see if they would hire you, or someone you know to promote the track. Its all about marketing....

Another reason why some of the racers decided to come to the Nopi race insted of San Antonio because some of them had said that they hadnt been paid from last year.
