Headlight Removal
Alright the scenario- Im painting my bumpers on my 89std.
What I need- How the hell do the headlights come out?
Tried all this with the drivers side light- Took out the clear corner, got that 10mm bolt out, then took out the two 10mm on the top of the headlight in the unibody. It wouldnt budge, I did see that on the bottom of the headlight assembly there was another 10 mm bolt that looked like it was holding it in. My question is how the in the hell does that thing come out? I tried thinking about how I would get to it but came up short. Can someone shed some light?

1)take out the clear corner and take out the bumper lenses
2) take off the bolts for the bumper cover and take the bumper cover off
3) take the bolts (4) for the bumper support off and take that off too.
4) headlights should have 4 bolts on them 2 on top and 2 on bottom, like in all 4 corners. once you take those bolts off the whole headlight assembly should come out. oh yeah dont forgot to take out the bulbs too. The reason you need to take off the bumper suppport is because it makes it easier to get the inside bottom bolt on the lights.
I did this from memory since i just took my projectors and put my stocks back on last week. If anyone can catch something i missed post it up please.

I believe the bumper cover will not come off unless I take out the piece that sits above it which is in between the bumper and the hood. To take that filler piece out I need to remove the headlights, which I cant. Does that make sense or am I completely wrong?

you dont need to take the filler piece off to get the bumper off. just take out the two bolts behind each one of the signal lights, and the phillips screws from each wheel well, then the bumper will pull right off, giving you access to the headlight bolts. This way you wont have to worry with taking the screws out for the bumper cover, just take the cover and support all off at once.
