surfboard on an EF?
I'm strongly considering buying an EF and wanted to make sure I could put a surfboard on it. Surfing is fun and it's cheap, just gas to get to the beach after you buy the board and wetsuit, so I'm getting into that and wanted to make sure this car could handle longboard duties.
If it can take a rack, is there a particular one you guys can recommend for my intentions?
Oh, and what's the ballpark on what to expect for a '91 Si in good shape with some mods? From what I've seen I'm thinking $3,500 or so. Zat sound right? I want a white one!
Thanks peeps

ya ef would work great for a surf board, just dont plan on putting it inside the car at anytime. a roof rack will hold it perfectly. and ya thats the range you are looking for
Well, I don't think that a surfboard would fit inside, but maybe if you pulled the passenger seat and folded down the back seats. Anyway, a roof rack is a good idea, we have a Yakima rack for hauling canoes on our 89 sedan and it works very well. I don't know if there is a special attachment for surfboards but you can check their site (http://www.yakima.com).
yeah man...i surf and my car works awesome for it...but i dont longboard i ride a 6'10...i have a dakine soft rack(cheap 40$). but if you have the funds i would suggest a yamika rack..they will fit http://www.yamika.com...
I easily fit a 6'6 inside my car... I took out the backseat and when someone is riding with me it goes right where the arm rest would be, still giving me enough room
also, the soft rack is an idea - but it doesn't sound like it would be very stable... how exactly do you put that on there with only 1 window?

yea surfboard should fit no problem. ive fit 3 snowboards in my car before, and im sure its not much shorter than a surfboard. i put down backseats, and it fits in the rear perfect.. plus 2 other friends fits inside with plenty of room.
yeah the foam mounting kit like the other guy said
i put the passenger seat all the way backwards, then slided my 8' and that's it
just remember to put towels underneath where u put your board, that ******* wax gets all over cuz it melts with heat. So roll down your windows!!!!
