Anyone hear of these seats??
I saw these on Ebay and they look pretty nice to kit in an ITR. Red stiching and all. Does anyone have feedback on them?

Do not get a seat that is not OEM (from some manufacturer) or does not have a safety rating.
Seats are a safety item and that is one area that you should never take any risks in.

Being that his car is a daily driver, it's good that the seats improve "comfortness".

it sure does. I was going to say how much they looked like Recaros.

yeah buit why do that? You would obviously need the seats to be very close to the pics or the buyer should bitch, but
who knows.

Just so you guys know. That is not photoshopped. If you look at the adjuster on the seats, it does not even closely resemble the real recaro's. Those are not photoshopped real seats, they're just straight up fake.
I'd say they are definately fake... but if you look really close to the top of the seat you can see that a black rectangle was copied and pasted over the real seat manufacturer- whether it's a recaro or not
those are fake recaro seats and actually say recaro on them. The recaro logo was covered so that they could sell them on ebay without getting in trouble.
its no photochop. its a spitting *image* of the SRD without the quality of course. on the r-1 site, it has R-1 embroidered instead of recaro. too bad i cant find it. damn it.
even tho it has no rating, the seat probably wouldnt be bad for a budget STS legal seat.

It might look like recaro srd photochop, but look at the handle in the corner. There's no ****, but just a lever? Btw, someones selling a pair here on HT. search classifieds for recaro style.

I dont think it would be technically legal. Dont aftermarket seats need to have some sort of certification?

well not techinally
but it seems in my region a seat being rated or not is kind of a toss up.
this sunday at autox it was the first time i had my sprint in. the guy didnt say anything about it. all he did was jump inside to depress my pedals, etc etc. and my seat IS FIA approved. but there are a couple people running tenzo seats, which are NOT approved, and no one says anything to them in tech so i dunno?
at some of the open track events ive had friends run with bride's and other seats that arent FIA approved and no one says anything.
i understand for wheel to wheel road racing of course its gonna be a different story all together

Do you run STS? If so a rigid seat is illegal
I am not sure of the DOT/FIA cert for the seats, it probably doesn't matter. But at any rate, it typically isn't the job of the person teching your car to make sure your car is legal for your class, but may point something out to you if they do notice something. But other racers can protest you if they find that you have illegal modifications for your class.

shhhhh. im so slow it doesnt matter yet
. me and about 5 other guys run fixed back seats. none of us are threatenining anyone's points standing so no one bothers us. I also have a omp wheel which isnt legal. again a few other guys have em too. on the local circuit i dont see too much protesting unless someone is kicking major *** with obviously illegal mods. i mentioned the rota spec recaro as a potentially good sts seat because it does recline, therefore legal in general.

yea i totally understand. i understand its not the job of the tech person to check for whats legal for your class, but i figure safety standards WOULD be checked by them. thats all i was saying. i was pointing that they let both approved and non approved seats slide by (regardless of class), as demonstrated by my example of my seat vs another guy with tenzo seats.

yeah, at a local level, you can get away with a lot of stuff, so long as you don't win.
in regards to the seats, it would probably be impossible to regulate even if there was a standard they needed to follow.
