I'm looking for a used or rebuilt carburetor for my '85 Accord - 1.8 L Manual. A particular online parts database (http://car-part.com) lists '84s and '85s together when I do a search for just '85. Are the carbs from these two years the same and therefore interchangeable?

Also, does anyone know what the status of the parts in these databases is, i.e. are they used but in "good" shape or is it up to the discretion of the salvage yard? any input here would be most helpful. i'd rather spend fifty bucks and get a halfway decent carb for my halfway decent car than spend 400 bucks on a great carb for my halfway decent car ; ) TIA.

 

Sam -- I just checked the engine code on you car, and it's an ES2. It was in the '84 & '85 Accords only from what I've found -- thus carbs from either the '84 or '85 should work.

Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong

 

Thanks for the info, Abe. Now let's hope I can get one and you can put it in. I've got work on "the van" planeed for myself as well.
