Default need .3 seconds for free

I am currently trying to take the fastest all motor honda on street tires in the for Las Vegas. The time is ONLY 14.1! They say its all because of the elevation but I think its bullshit. It hasnt effected my times much. I have a b16, intake, exhaust, cam gears, and its gutted. On Azenis I am running 14.4. I have taken out a bit of more weight than the last time(50lbs) and am going to run open exhaust this time. Does anybody have a tip to get my car faster for free?

Try to advance your timing all the way to the threshold of detonation and you'll make a few extra.

not for free but get the softest compond street tire you can..you can take time off easily with better traction

Azenis are one of the stickiest street tires other than drag radials. My friend has VitoRacers and they are twice as expensive and he still doesnt get as good as 60ft times. I am running my timing at full advance with no signs of detination.

I think I am getting better. I have only had 16 runs at the track. My R/T are consistently .580-590 with the .5 tree. I want to work on that. I am getting better sixty foot times with my Azenis than some people get with slicks at the this track. I speed shift pretty decent I guess. I have never miss shifted and I dont gain many revs between shifts.

If you advance your timing too much you actually hurt power.

I wish I could. I dont have a scanner or a digital camera.(Yeah I know I am in the stone age) Soon as my wife can work again I will get one. If I was lying about my time I would say I am a lot faster than 14.4.

I am going to try to run a few runs with my right headlight in and try it with it out a few times because I have a short ram intake because I am waiting for a certain race shop to come out with there own setup. Has anybody tried this and did you gain anything?

Just start ripping everything out of the car that dont help with traction or power. Youl know your there when you can pick the back end of the car up by yourself. Its amazing what the extra weight costs you and taking it out is free as you asked for. Just dont tear out anything that will make you not street legal. I found out the hard way you need a dash and speedometer.

I didnt mean to seem like i was doubting your time. Just wanted to see what your whole time slip was.
That's a good time for vegas weather. Im sure you could prolly dip into 13's if you visit Sac raceway. But be warned it's $40 to run your car on track night w/ a 3 run limit.

Correct me if i'm wrong but, although the falken azenis are "sticky", doesn't the stiff sidewall actually hurt lauching?

gut the thing. especially the side mirrors (drag). this includes things lie your windshield washer fluid bottle.

put in some race fuel, advance your timing a little bit, pull off your air filter.

some other things, run a thinner oil, bypass TB coolant, remove your rear bumper cover (aero), run less fuel in your tank (lighter)

They do have a stiff sidewall but at 15 psi they are not that stiff. I have yet to see a non drag radial street tire pull a 2.150(MY 60ft) or faster at LVMS.

not for free but short shifter will help. Wait trade the cam gears for one, since they have probably never been adjusted.

Yeah I just got a short shifter. The cam gears have been adj buy the guy who built my motor and has dynoed tuned the same setup. 2 intake, -2exh. I actually was playing with it at the track and this consistently gave me the fastest MPH at the track. Everybody seems so eager to come to Vegas and dominate. Times are slow here but be prepared to lose .5 of your et. Every friend that has made the trip to LACR has there fastest time there buy .3-.5
